ADDLESTONE ARTS FESTIVAL 2010

This year’s Arts Festival will take place from Saturday June 19th to Sunday June 27th. A full programme is being arranged, details of which will be available in May. Items will include the following.

The Festival will open with an Art Exhibition, entrance free, in the Tulk Hall of the A.C.A. Community Centre in Garfield Road from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

On Sunday June 20th, Pond Grainger Performing Arts will perform in the Tulk Hall at 2.30pm, admission £5.00.  Later, the Ted Percey Trio with the Festival Singers will present ‘The Magic Music of Richard Rodgers’ in the evening at 7.30pm, admission £7.00.

The Laudamus Choir will give a concert ‘Summertime’ in the Methodist Church on Monday evening June 21st, admission £5.00, and on Thursday evening Addlestone Singers invite you to ‘Come and Sing’ in the Methodist Church, admission £5.00.

On Wednesday 23rd afternoon at 2.00pm come and play ‘Bingo’ until 4.00pm in the Muriel Wise suite of the Community Centre, there will also be a raffle and refreshments. In the evening at 7.30pm there will be ‘Poetry Reading’ in the ‘Pelican’, Hamm Moor Lane.

Bring your antiques along to the Community Centre for valuation on Thursday, £1 per item, from 11.00am till 3.00pm. There will also be displays by A.C.A. Sections, including one of ‘Old Surrey Postcards’ by the Philatelic Section. Refreshments will be available. Phoenix Trading greetings cards will be on sale in the foyer.

Addlestone Community Youth Theatre presents ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ in the Tulk Hall on Friday and Saturday evenings, June 25th and 26 th, with a matinee performance on the 26th. Tickets will be £8.00, adults, and £6.00, children and OAPs.

The Street Fair will be on Saturday 26th, with stalls, entertainment and exhibitions along the wider paved areas of Station Road, and children’s rides in the Health Centre Car Park. Entertainment during the day includes performances by Darley Dene School, Magic Mike, Fusion Belly Dancing, Beacon Church and Jubilee International High School. Brooklands Museum will have an exhibition outside the Civic Centre. At 3.00pm in Victory Park, come and try Lawn Bowls FREE with Addlestone Victory Park Bowls Club, please wear flat shoes, qualified instructor, equipment provided.

South Runnymede Churches will hold the traditional ‘Thanksgiving Service’ on Sunday 27th to conclude the Festival in the Baptist Church at 6.00pm..
